The World Bank Issues Bond in Turkish Lira

Washington, DC, February 8, 2006 - The World Bank has issued a Turkish Lira (TRY) bond. The notes will be placed with European retail and institutional investors via Lehman Brothers International Europe as the lead manager.

Issue price : 100.80%
Coupon: 12.00% annually
Denomination: TRY 2,000 and integral multiples thereof
