Hosted by the World Bank Treasury and sponsored by the International Retail Debt Management Conference (IRDMC) the International Retail Debt Management Symposium will address the rationale for having a retail debt program, identifying and undersanding the investor base, and identifying appropriate products and delivery channels, taking into account the cost and customer accessibility. The IRDMC is a group of nations including Canada, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Japan, South Africa, Sweden, the United Kingdom, and the United States.
Designing Government Debt Management Strategies - June 2-6, 2008 - Paris-France
This five-day workshop covers risk management and strategy design through presentations, case studies and interactive exercises led by debt management practitioners at the World Bank Treasury. Theoretical presentations and country cases are used to illustrate the different stages in the process of developing a strategy. Participants also present on the framework for debt management strategy in their respective countries. This course is designed for heads of debt offices as well as technical staff with input into decisions on debt management strategy and it is by invitation only.
Implementing a Debt Management Strategy - June 9-13, 2008 - Paris-France
This five-day course aims to build capacity in the execution of new borrowing, including the design a funding program that is cost effective and which contributes to developing the domestic debt market, as well as execution of existing debt, such as swap operations, exchange offers and buyback programs. It combines theoretical and case study presentations to illustrate an overview of the processes and procedures for transaction execution. This course is targeted at central bank and finance ministry technical and management-level staff involved in market transaction and policy making and it is by invitation only.
