Steen Byskov


Steen is a senior financial economist with experience spanning World Bank financial solutions, financial risk management, financial stability and financial sector policy, and World Bank operations.

Steen leads Treasury’s offering in local currencies and coordinates work in the Latin America and South Asia regions.  He previously led both development policy and investment operations in the areas of financial stability and development in the Latin America and the Europe and Central Asia regions. In addition, he led or participated in the joint IMF-World Bank Financial Sector Assessment Program (FSAP) country evaluations. Since joining the World Bank Thailand team in 1998 to work on the Asian crisis, he also spent two years at the IMF working on financial stability.

Steen holds a Master of Science in Economics from the University of Copenhagen and an MBA from the University of Maryland.
